I moved to McKinney without knowing anyone, or where streets were located. Feeling the necessity to help someone in need, I called Meals on Wheels. Ann Warfield quickly put me to work on the Chili Cook-off, a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels. After that, she assigned me to a route in McKinney. It has been a pleasure serving the senior citizens in McKinney and each one of them is very appreciative to the Meals on Wheels program. The volunteers such as me who deliver the meals make this program work.

” I just love the people and I love ‘Meals on Wheels’ “. – Sharon – Route 1
“Delivering meals is the highlight of my week”. – Janie – Route 2
“Having done Meals on Wheels for six years in the Chicago area, I
decided to resume this worthwhile service after moving to Plano and have
another six years under my belt. Committing to two hours once a month is time
well spent. Who knows – someday I, too, may need this service.” – Donna
“I would just like to say how rewarding it is to help out people in need and how enjoyable it is to meet and talk with many of the people we serve each week.” – Richard
“Taking the time to get my eyes off myself and my circumstances and
onto others…..fills the rest of the day and week with happiness and
joy.” – Lynn
“I have been so blessed by the opportunity that you have opened up to deliver lunch on a weekly basis, to some wonderful and very very special people who I now truly consider to be my friends. I look forward to seeing them every week and making their day a little brighter by just sharing a smile, a hug or a few kind words. You and your team are doing a great job and I thank you for giving me the opportunity to touch the lives of some of these great seniors in our community.
God’s Blessings,
Dianne
