About the Meals

Congratulations to Mary Headrick and the Kitchen Staff for receiving a perfect score from the Health Department two years in a row. Our industrial size can opener was also dubbed, ‘cleanest in Collin County’ by the health inspector.

Our meal is a hot entrée, including dessert and beverage served at lunch time Monday – Friday. Upon sign up, clients can choose either 1% milk or apple juice. Menus change monthly and vary by season. In the summer months, a cold salad or sandwich is served periodically for a change of pace. All meals are nutritionally balanced and meet the l/3 adult daily requirement. No additional salt or sugar is added.

Meals are packaged in dual ovenable containers and kept warm in insulated chests until delivery.

These new containers allow the meal to be re-heated in the oven or microwave.

Frozen meals are delivered to clients for use when we are closed for major holidays (Thanksgiving
and Christmas). Shelf stable boxed meals are delivered to clients for other holidays and for
emergency situations like icy roads when volunteers are not able to deliver their routes.
